The Interior Detailing Process
Lets face it, a simple vacuuming of the interior is
not sufficient enough to thoroughly remove the dirt and grime found in a
cars carpets and upholstery . That's why my process starts with
compressed air to purge the interior of dirt and debris and get those
hard to reach areas a vacuum just cant reach for example; between the
seats, the A/C air vents, under seats, and in seat crevices. This method along
with the application of environmentally friendly cleaners and small
detail brushes followed by a
deep vacuuming by a wet/dry vacuum is the best method out there for a
complete interior rejuvenation. We NEVER
use cheep looking "wet &
sticky"
dressings or "cheap" fragrances on your cars interiors. These products
have a tendancy to build up and actually
attract dirt to stick to your dash and console. After the cleaning
process we then follow up with a carpet shampoo and
extractor steam clean, and WOW ! you have a brand new interior.
Interior Steam Cleaning vs Shampooing Carpets
At JELs Auto detailing we use a machine called a extractor steam cleaner
to remove dirt, stains, and debris from carpet and upholstery. a lot of
detailers will claim to "shampoo" Interiors with a bucket of water and a
brush. But ask any carpet guy and they will tell you unless your
actually extracting that dirty water, nothing is actually getting
cleaned, only thing getting cleaned is the surface of the carpet, most of the
dirt will get ground down into fibers. We use the combination of
shampooing the carpets with a brush, and environmental friendly cleaners to
clean the fibers then go back over it with the extractor to rinse and
suck out all the dirt and remove the majority of stains. The
extraction utilizes a solution that is heated to 210 degrees and deep
cleans the carpet. Not just the top surface. This kind of treatment
can effectively remove odors caused by bacteria and mildew that may be
present in your carpet.
Leather Cleaning & Conditioning
Leather
seats are a part of your vehicle that must be cleaned and maintained in
a similar fashion of your vehicles paint. Stress cracks and fading can
occur to leather seats over time, that's why its imperative you have
them cleaned and conditioned when a you clean you car. Leather
essentially is skin and skin gets dry and will crack. That's why
usually on the drivers seat you will see stress cracks because the
leather has dried out. With pH balanced creams and cleaners you can keep
your leather seats looking and feeling soft and supple for years.
